What telehealth is
Telehealth means receiving medical care from a licensed physician using secure video, phone and messaging instead of an in-person office visit. All care at Ora Health MD is delivered this way.
Benefits
- Care from home or work, without travel.
- Easier follow-ups and faster access to your doctor.
- Your doctor responds the same business day.
Limits and risks
- Your doctor cannot physically examine you. Some conditions need an in-person exam or test; if so, your doctor will tell you and help you arrange it.
- Technology can fail, which may delay or interrupt a visit.
- Although we use secure systems, no electronic communication is completely risk-free.
- Telehealth is not for emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.
Your responsibilities
- Be a Florida resident and be physically located in Florida at the time of every visit.
- Join visits from a private place, and give complete and accurate information about your health.
- Follow your treatment plan and tell your doctor about side effects or changes in your health.
Prescriptions
Medication is prescribed only if your doctor determines it is medically appropriate. Some medications, including controlled substances, can be prescribed only as federal and Florida law allow.
Your rights
- You can ask questions at any time and decline or stop telehealth care.
- Your information is protected as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
- You can ask for a referral for in-person care.
